Beating anxiety to beat her opponent

Bravery is not the absence of fear, it is doing something despite the fear. Brave is exactly how I would describe Stacey. I first met Stacey a little over a year ago. She is a beautiful young lady brimming with positive energy and warmth.

Stacey is a mum to two young children. Being a mum to two young children can quickly take over your life...any spare time is no longer your own! It can also have an impact on your sense of begin to see yourself as mum but can start to lose a little of who you are. This can sometimes lead to feelings of anxiety and overwhelm.

A month or so ago Stacey told me that she had entered her first karate competition. She had joined Clevedon Karate Kai seven months previously with her youngest daughter and had fallen in love with the sport. She felt excited about the competition she had entered, but at the same time, confessed to feelings of anxiety and self-doubt surrounding this new challenge.

Stacey and I discussed ways of managing stress and reducing anxiety. I explained to her that CBD was something I used daily to keep me balanced and reduce feelings of stress and increase feelings of calm. She decided to give it a go.

When Stacey walked in store earlier this week, she looked glowing. Not only had she overcome her anxiety, entered the competition, but she had won a bronze medal!!

"The CBD Black is amazing! It literally calmed my nerves instantly."

It took a lot of courage for Stacey to step out of her comfort zone and conquer her fears. That day she won two medals....a bronze for fighting but a gold for bravery. Stacey gave full consent for me to share this story, feeling that maybe other mums, young adults or children may benefit from the feelings of self-belief, confidence and joy she has experienced from Karate.

Stacey is a member of the Clevedon Karate Kai. The coaches, Rory Daniels and Donna Robertson work incredibly hard to coach youngsters from 5 years through to adults. Karate is not just a sport, it develops discipline, self-belief and respect. These guys truly are local heroes.
